With generous financial assistance from Sutton Coldfield Municipal Charities, we were able to acquire a comfortable 17-seat mini-coach in 2008 which is now in weekly use, providing a taxi pick-up service to Chapel meetings on Sundays and other times.

The minibus also enables us to offer regular trips for 3GF and other groups. These trips can be half-day excursions to local garden centres, or full-day outings farther afield. 3GF grew out of these trips, and from small beginnings, there are now more than 60 names on our list of 3GF day trippers.

We see the acquisition of the minibus as a blessing from the Lord. We viewed a number of possible vehicles but all were above our planned budget. Then we found a coachbuilder in Manchester with a suitable vehicle which was a cancelled order. The company was eager to sell the vehicle and after further negotiation, they reduced the asking price and then agreed to carry out some modifications and enhancements at no additional cost to us. The final cost to the Chapel was exactly on our budget — praise God!

Our response to this blessing from the Lord was that we should share availability of our new mini-coach with other local church groups. Other churches benefit from using the vehicle, and their gifts and donations go towards our running costs: so the blessing is shared!
